LANSING, Mich. — A joint state House-Senate panel Thursday approved Senate Bill 149, the fiscal year 2020 transportation budget that includes $400 million more for roads without raising taxes, said Sen. Roger Victory, vice chairman of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation .
“Today’s vote builds upon the promise we made to taxpayers to find money within our existing budget to fund road repairs,” said Victory, R-Hudsonville. “The transportation budget includes significant money for local repairs.
“I am particularly thrilled that funding to support the Ferrysburg bridge project was included in the budget.”
SB 149 now heads to the full Senate and House for final concurrence before heading to the governor’s desk.
The Legislature will send the remaining budget bills to the governor next week.
